If you’re tuned into the Australian skatepark landscape its very likely you would be aware of Adelaide Citypark’s uncertain future. Our Adelaide Skateboard Hub, in partnership with the Adelaide City Council, hosted the last official competition at the beloved Citypark, which was also used as a platform for the Adelaide skateboarding community to show support for a new skatepark in the CBD. The event was scheduled for Saturday, 31st of May, but was pushed back a day due to heavy rain.

The Sunday saw the Grommie Games, Junior and Open divisions shine through with heavy shredding, but the heavens opened once again after heat 1 of the Sponsored which lead to another postponement. Fortunately, Sunday the 8th of May was a sparkling, sunny day and our Adelaide Hub team was determined to see the competition right through to the Curtains, so to speak.

A huge thanks to the Adelaide City Council, Nike SB, élan Skateboards for allowing us to send off the Adelaide Citypark in style. Go and peep the full ‘Curtains’ album shot by Jarrod Knoblauch. Also, this weekend the Adelaide Hub is at it again with a StreetWise and Game of S.K.A.T.E. at Mt Barker this Sunday.
