Juniors must be 14 years of age or under on the day of Qualifying.
All Junior competitors are required to wear a helmet during the state-based qualifying stops. Helmets are optional for qualified Juniors at the Grand Final.
If the winner of the Australian Open Amateur Championship is under 18 years of age it will be the responsibility of their family or guardian to approve and pay for a chaperone to America for the Tampa Am event.
In the event of wet or unforseen weather a decision to cancel or continue will be made on the day of the event. The scheduled event format can be adjusted on the day to assist with weather issues (eg. Results taken from heats).
In the event of a complete weather cancellation, washing out an entire qualifying round, competitors will be encouraged to travel to one of the other remaining qualifying rounds, where extra qualification spots (maximum of 2 in Open, and 1 in Junior) will be on offer.
Weather updates will be announced by SbA on the day of the event online at SbA’s Facebook page.
To be eligible to enter SbA’s Am Titles you can NOT have your name on a pro-model skateboard deck.
Any qualified skater who turns ‘Pro’ (gets their name on a pro-model board) between qualifying and that year’s Am Titles Final or Tampa Am, becomes ineligible to compete in those events respectively.
As this is the ‘Australian Amateur Championships’ you must be an Australian Citizen, or at minimum, Australian Resident to enter.
The division you qualify in is the division you will skate in for the final.
You can only skate in one division.
First place state champion in each division wins return airfares to the Am Titles Final in Melbourne.
COMPETING IN MULTIPLE EVENTS
Skaters are permitted to enter as many of the qualifying stops as they like. Prize money will be awarded to place getters regardless of any pre-qualification status, whilst the qualification and finals flights will be passed down the line in the occasion that first place has already won flights.
